Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Standards

Trip Atelier is committed to publishing travel information that is accurate, verifiable, and genuinely useful to first-time foreign visitors to Korea. This page describes the editorial standards and fact-checking procedures that govern every article we publish.

Research-Based Writing Only

Every article on Trip Atelier is produced through documented research — not personal travel experience. Our writers and editors do not fabricate first-person travel narratives (“When I visited…” / “I personally found…”). Claims about what visitors experience are drawn from official sources, verified reports, and documented traveler accounts, clearly attributed.

Allowed First-Person Language

We permit the following research-attribution phrases:

  • “From what we’ve researched…”
  • “According to official sources…”
  • “Based on verified information as of [date]…”
  • “After checking multiple sources…”

Prohibited Language

We prohibit any first-person language that implies a personal experience our editorial team has not actually had:

  • “When I visited…”
  • “I took the subway and…”
  • “I’ve been to X three times and…”
  • Any claim presented as personal experience without clear attribution to an official or documented source

Fact-Checking Procedure

  1. Primary sourcing — Every factual claim (price, schedule, procedure, regulation) must be traceable to a primary source: a government body, official transport operator, or accredited institution.
  2. Cross-referencing — Key facts are checked against at least two independent sources where possible.
  3. Official source linking — Every article includes a minimum of two direct links to official sources (e.g., Visit Korea, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Korea Rail Network, T-money).
  4. Date-stamping — All articles include a “Based on publicly available information as of [date]” disclosure and a “Last updated” timestamp.
  5. Revision on correction — When a reader or source reports an error, we investigate within 48 hours and update the article within 72 hours if confirmed. Significant corrections are noted in the article with a correction timestamp.

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Editorial content is never written or modified in exchange for payment, free services, gifts, or advertising consideration. Where affiliate links are present, they are disclosed per our Terms of Use. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled “Sponsored” and will meet the same factual accuracy standards as editorial content.

Content Update Policy

Korea’s travel regulations, prices, and transport systems change regularly. We audit articles for accuracy on a rolling basis, prioritizing high-traffic and time-sensitive topics. Articles showing a “Last updated” date more than 12 months old should be treated with extra caution — please verify with official sources.

Corrections and Complaints

We welcome corrections. If you believe an article contains inaccurate or misleading information, please contact us with:

  • The article title and URL
  • The specific claim you believe is inaccurate
  • A link to an official source that contradicts our claim (if available)

We will acknowledge your message within 48 hours and update the article within 72 hours if the correction is confirmed.
